CrandallMenus is an industry leading, comprehensive, online menu system specific to the senior living industry. CrandallMenus has two major components that can be used separately, or together: Menus and DietEssentials. Diet Essentials is the Resident Card (traycard/dietcard) and Weight Management system.

Cost is a per month, all-inclusive fee, billed quarterly. The fee is based on the number of communities within your corporation, whether those communities have any other Crandall services, and what your specific needs are. Average monthly fees range from $100 - $190 per month, per community.

Monthly fees include onboarding, training, ongoing support, bi-annual seasonal menus, and any updates, upgrades and enhancements to the program. This includes training new employees on the program long-after the initial menu launch. Items not included are EMR integrations, large volume recipe entry, and certain custom projects.

CrandallMenus provides a choice of detailed framework menus which the community may personalize according to their resident’s preferences and needs. Working within the menu is a streamlined and efficient process for exchanging, adding and deleting meal items that enhances usability. The program provides Posting and Production reporting. Some of the most common reports are a Week-at-a-Glance menu, spreadsheets, recipes, production sheets, ingredient list, order guide, nutrition and cost analysis, and many others.

Yes! Any Crandall menu may be used with any care type depending on what estimated price per resident is needed and community or corporate specific menu preferences. Over 60% of our menu customers are Assisted Living communities. Assisted Living residents have few diets or modifications; however, detail is already built in for when needed as each recipe is cross-referenced for all diets and texture modifications available with our menu system. Communities may also use the deep database of Crandall recipes to personalize their menu(s) by care type.

Yes! Crandall menus may be used with any care type. Each recipe is cross-referenced for all diets and texture modifications available with our menu system including the most strict that Long-Term Care may need. Any Crandall menu may be used with any care type depending on what estimated price per resident is needed and community or corporate specific menu preferences. Communities may also use the deep database of Crandall recipes to then personalize their menu(s) by care type.

Notify Crandall support immediately and the team will assist in providing access and guidance during the interim. When a new Director is hired, the team will assist with onboarding and training on the menu system, all at no cost.

CrandallMenus is a web-based system with secure cloud management. Data is retained on dedicated Crandall servers. There is no impact on the community’s or corporation’s infrastructure and no additional hardware or software to purchase. Backups are done multiple times throughout the day.

Crandall’s menus are released to communities with our corporate RD’s signature. This signifies the menu’s content meets all state and federal regulations as well as meal balance and ingredient cross-utilization. With the Approve My Menu feature, our corporate RD’s signature remains on the menu when changes made retain the nutritional parameters for the menu.

In the states of California and Massachusetts, in addition to our digital signature, the local RD is also required to sign the community’s menus.

Yes! CrandallMenus transitioned to the IDDSI (International Dysphagia Diet Standardization Initiative) texture modification terminology as of September 2021. The majority of our customers have made the move to IDDSI.

For those that have not yet completed training and implementation of IDDSI, their menu account will have the former NDD (National Dysphagia Diet) texture modification language. We recommend making the change to IDDSI soon!

NDD was formerly part of the full Nutrition Care Manual (NCM) established by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND). As of October 2021, the AND, the Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals (ANFP) and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) no longer support NDD.
